  • Camp at Utah Lake State Park.  Located a few miles west of Provo, where fishing and boating are easily accessible. Enjoy fishing, boating, camping, waterskiing, and canoeing on Utah's largest freshwater lake. There is also a wonderful visitors center that has a display of mounted fish, American Indain arrowheads and grinding stones, dozens of historic photos, a 1890's swimming suite and a 1950's fishing net.   • Ice-skate at The Peaks Ice Arena, one of the 2002 Winter Olympic venues, the Peaks has two Olympic size ice sheets. This ice attraction is open all year round and provides fun activities for all ages, like ice skating, ice hockey, broom ball, floor hockey, figure skating as well as indoor soccer.   •  Visit  the Springville Museum of Art.  801-489-2727  Utah's oldest museum for Visual Arts; the pride and joy of the community known as "Art City." The beautiful Spanish Moroccan style building would be worth visiting even if there were no art. Over 1,900 pieces of Utah, Russian and American art comprise the permanent collection. A variety of exhibitions, concerts, programs, and special events are offered throughout the year. The Museum also provides a beautiful setting for receptions, luncheons and workshops. Admission is free. 126 E 400 S. in Springville.
             Cabela's...the World's Foremost Outfitter of hunting, fishing, and outdoor gear offers a 150,000 sq. ft. showroom filled with educational and entertainment attractions, featuring animal displays, a huge aquarium and trophy animals interacting in realistic re-creations of their natural habitats, and of course splendid shopping. Other amenities include Dog Kennels, RV Parking, Semi Parking, Horse Corrals, Dump Station, Banquet/Meeting Facilities, Indoor Archery Range.

Cabela's has a distinctive look to their retail operations, a look which turns them into tourist attractions as well as retail stores. The stores are more like cavernous showrooms, bringing the outdoors inside. They feature museum-quality displays of taxidermied wildlife, large aquariums, indoor mountains, and archery ranges.

Sundance Resort.  Scenic Rte 92, North Fork Provo Canyon, Provo, UT 84604 · 801-225-4107.  Robert Redford's resort, although stylish, isn't glitzy. Instead, its emphasis is on nature and handcrafted, authentic goods. To that effect, the resort offers exquisite lodging and furnishings amid the stunning beauty of the Wasatch Mountains. Cottages and homes are set along the creek and allow for guests' privacy. Individual rooms, furnished with beautiful artwork, handmade furniture, fireplace, deck, and environmentally-sound bath products. In addition, Sundance boasts two great restaurants, a lounge, and a theater. Book well in advance to ensure a room during peak season. There is meeting space to accommodate 300. In addition, a host of outdoor activities is available, including skiing at the resort's own slopes. Although it's not one of the area's largest ski resorts (450 acres), Sundance offers exceptional terrain for beginners and pros alike. Its 41 runs remain uncrowded throughout the season, thanks to a limit on visitors. Open bowls and tree-lined trails satisfy any skier, and you'll find both downhill and cross-country runs, along with snowboarding courses. The mountain's vertical drop is 2150 feet, and several of the more advanced slopes have snowmaking capability. Lessons are available for groups, individuals, and children, and guests may rent equipment from the resort as well.
 
Seven Peaks Resort.  1330 E 300 North, Provo, UT 84606 · 801-373-8777.This giant water park, one of the largest in Utah, is open during the summer months to kids of all ages. Boasting 25-plus acres of water-fun – from giant slides to a lake-sized wave pool – Seven Peaks certainly offers a good day's worth of thrills and adventures. For those with winter fun in mind, the Peaks Ice Arena (built for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games) is open to the public year-round and offers two Olympic-sized rinks. Skate rentals are available.
 
BYU Earth Science Museum.  1683 N Canyon Rd, Brigham Young University, Provo, UT 84602 · 801-378-3680.  Located on the BYU campus, this fascinating museum offers patrons several glances at the mystery and history of the natural world. From the Jurassic Period to the Ice Age, the museum's extensive collection spans thousands of years and includes the fossilized remains of dinosaurs, mammals, and ancient sea life.
 
BYU Museum of People and Culture.  700 N 100 East, Brigham Young University, Provo, UT 84601 · 801-422-0026.  Located in BYU's historic Allen Hall, a beautiful red brick building with parapet walls, this unique museum boasts cultural artifacts hailing from all corners of the earth. In particular, the museum's collection tells the stories of the prehistoric and Native American peoples via myriad informative displays, and exhibits that include pottery shards, complete vessels, and other pieces of socio-historical significance. Significant exhibition space is also given to ancient Israeli, Polynesian, and Syrian cultures as well.
 
 
Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum.  645 E 1430 N, Brigham Young University, Provo, UT 84604 · 801-378-5051.  Located on the BYU campus near the Marriott Center, the Monte L. Bean Life Science Museum is a facility dedicated to the preservation and promotion of the biological sciences. Housed within the museum are a variety of specimens and exhibits, including those focusing on insects, plants, fish, mammals, and birds from around the world. Best of all, the museum is a family-friendly environment that offers everything from live reptile shows to a hands-on playroom.
 
Museum of Art at BYU.  492 E Campus Dr, Brigham Young University, Provo, UT 84602 · 801-422-8287.  Brigham Young University's famous museum of art, one of the largest in the western United States, contains an impressive collection of paintings, pottery, and sculpture from around the world, including pieces by everyone from Rembrandt and Monet to Americans Maynard Dixon and Burton Silverman. The museum, which owes its contemporary design to Los Angeles architect James Langerheim, has four levels and includes 10 galleries, a library, an auditorium, classrooms, and a small theater.
