Draper Utah
Draper was founded in 1849 by Mormon Pioneers. It is located about 20 miles south of Salt Lake City along the Wasatch Front.
It has a current population of about 36,000. The median income is about $72,341 per household.
It shares borders with Riverton and Bluffdale to the west, South Jordan to the northwest, Sandy to the north, Alpine to the southeast, Highland to the south, and Lehi to the southwest.
It is located about half way between Salt Lake City and Provo, making it an ideal location for commuting, shopping or traveling in either direction.
It is located between 30 to 60 minutes from 8 world-class ski and winter recreation areas.
Between 1990 and 2000, Draper was Utah’s fastest growing city.
EBay, the famous and popular auction site is located in Draper. PGP Corp, one of the largest computer encruption companies in the world has their call center here. Draper is headquarters for the 1-800Contacts company. It is also home to Utah’s first IKEA, which opened in the spring of 2007.
Golfer Mike Weir lives here. And it is one of the world’s best hang gliding spots in the world just off Travers Ridge…due to the constant winds.
Corner Canyon Recreation Park is being built on 1,021 Acres with trails, parks and recreation areas.
In August 2006, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, broke gound for a new temple which has greatly increased property values in the area.
